Decorating Your Eyes for Halloween

It’s that time of year again and Halloween is approaching us! This is the spookiest holiday, one where people dress up for laughs, scares, and even candy.

If you wear glasses or contacts, you might think your costume options are limited. Think again! By decorating your eyes for Halloween, you can look holiday-appropriate from head to toe. Just follow these tips.

How to Decorate Your Eyes for Halloween

  • Wear colored contacts. These fun lenses in unnatural hues make your eyes look ghoulish. Try a lens in colors like red, yellow, purple, or even black. Of course, make sure you speak to your optometrist about wearing these contacts and don’t forget to take them out before you go to bed.

  • Tape some Halloween-themed decals to your glasses. Keep these on the smaller side so they don’t weigh down your glasses. Be sure to use heavy-duty tape so the decals stick, but never use glue! Otherwise, the decals might not come off.

  • Adhere to some terrifying stickers to your glasses. You might need to spend some time with the rubbing alcohol to clean off the sticky residue at the end of the night, though.

  • Use face paint or even eyeshadow on and around your eyes. The eerier the color, the better, so try deep red or even sickly yellow. Just because you wear glasses doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy face painting.

  • If the above options don’t suit your taste, keeping your classic frames is always an option. They can enhance any costume you wish to create, from a book worm or even Clark Kent. There are endless possibilities!

As you can see, there are plenty of great ways to get into the Halloween spirit with your contact lenses or glasses. As long as you’re creative, you have plenty of options when it comes to creating a great costume or even just spooking your friends and family.
