What is Neurolens®?

Neurolens® is a revolutionary new treatment for a condition known as binocular vision dysfunction or BVD for short. They are unique lenses that contain specially-contoured microprism glass, the purpose of which is to bring the eyes into alignment with one another. Exactly how much prism you will need in your lenses will vary depending on your individual requirements and it isn’t unusual for patients to have the amount tweaked regularly until the optimal level is reached. NeurolensesÒ can be placed into virtually any frames, enabling you to retain your usual style whilst also reaping the benefits of this highly effective treatment.

In the initial stages, you may see up to a 50% improvement in your BVD symptoms. However, once the optimal prism amount is discovered and applied to your lenses, you could see as much as an 80% reduction in your BVD symptoms.

What is binocular vision dysfunction and how do I know if I am affected?

Binocular vision dysfunction is a surprisingly common ocular condition that is characterized by the eyes not working in perfect synchronization with one another. When this happens, the brain and eyes have to work substantially harder for you to focus on objects and see them clearly. Doing so places a great deal of pressure on the largest nerve in the brain – the trigeminal nerve. When this happens, patients can experience a range of unpleasant symptoms including:

  • Eye fatigue
  • Headaches
  • Neck and shoulder pain
  • Sensitivity to light
  • Dizziness and balance problems
  • Nausea
  • Blurred/double vision

If you suspect that you may be affected by BVD, don’t hesitate to get in touch with our team so that we can arrange an evaluation of your vision and see whether Neurolens® is a suitable option for you.

We can help with the symptoms with our new treatment plan. Give us a call today at (323) 651-5646 to learn more!
